Ellen, I used an omni bounce diffuser and tend to angle the flash head at 45 degrees.
I’ve since bought a lambency diffuser (bigger therfore softer light) to explore portrait photography, should be great for the little critters too.   :-)

Love the way you captured the eyeballs! Nice fly! The last one I was getting ready to shoot, I put on the bed, to go get white velvet in the other room and my dog came up and smashed and killed the fly……….. Wow, that was the end of that. Ok now I am on the hunt for flies……..

Wow, That fly is so beautiful, well I looked for some flies but couldn’t catch any! So I got a cockaroach instead. That I will not be posting, lol :-)
