Spot

I’ve never seen another with eyes like this before.
Anyone know which species? I suspect hoverfly family. :-)

Thanks to Andrew who identified Spot as a …
native drone fly, Eristalinus punctulatus

Excellent work, Darren. I’ve never seen a fly like that – and I’m always in my backyard looking for subjects.
