Refraction

These photos were taken at my cousins wedding 10th November 2007. I wasn’t the official photographer, honestly doesn’t really appeal… I did however enjoy taking some more candid photos during the reception.

The background photo, glass on table was taken while passing some time. The image in the glass is of the Bridesmaids listening intently to the Best Man’s speech. This photo was taken without the flash using my 70-300mm lens (along with a host of other cool shots), in a fairly dark room.
My ISO was 3200 and Aperture 4.0

To put the bridesmaids into the glass & appear as a refraction:
○ Background image is obviously the glass
○ Pasted new layer .. the bridesmaids
○ Set opacity so you can see glass background
○ Select and free transform – warp .. to fit gass

At this point I used the eraser at 11% on the lower section of the image, and then more around the rim of the glass to return the 3D feel.
○ Bridesmaids layer .. Blend mode = Overlay at 88%

Had alot of fun with this one trying to make it look believable.
