It’s a tee. It’s a dress. It’s the new Graphic T-shirt Dress.

I look upon you.

I look upon you, empty,
as you face the window sill
your nakedness warms the sunlight
like a violin sewn with silk

Your breasts become a journey
to a world of silent pain
I watch them rise and fall
once more, and once more once again

I carry you with me always
like some shrapnel in my heart
I’m wearing one of those uniforms
covered with tiny darts

my body’s like a temple
demolished into dust
blowing through the shifting sands
of old forsaken lust

long ago I found the pathways
into your velvet bed
but I have no map to lead me to
the paths into your head

lonely as a pilgrim
who has lost the only way
I follow ancient journeys;
this time I’ll have to pay

men will often find you
and in their webs enfold
why do you stand in fire
while the mirror’s glass is cold?

I’ve seen you with your trumpet
I’ve seen you with your stick
I’ve seen you in your cavern
that you’re building out of bricks

I hear your voice inside me
while you’re standing in the sun
I’m neither man nor woman now
and so…your work is done.

I look upon you.
