painted on a rough-textured, gessoed, hand-stretched canvas. the side borders of the canvas are actually a black and white checkered pattern that compliments the colors int he painting. Coated with a transparent matte finish to prevent chipping and fading. This is one of my personal favorites. :)
Interesting shine to the hills, while the red river (blood?) is matt – at least in this representation. The dragon here reminds me of a feathered serpent, such as those depicted by the Mesoamericans, especially Quetzalcoatl.
