He watched from a distance as the doctor stalked off with pride. His grandmother lay weak in bed and now, this made his emotions tangle up. All he could think about was how beautiful she looked before she was bald. His family tried to persuade her to undergo assistance in the near-by hospital, but she was reluctant and commanded then to leave her in her house.
He hardly ever went in to see her. Sometimes, she would call for her daughter, but he would have to be the bearer of bad news day-by-day and remind her that her daughter, his mother, had passed on. Whenever he had to remind her, the fear and terrible agony of his mother’s horrid death, came into existence in his mind, as well as her’s.

The following day, the doctor came for the daily visit as usual and as usual, he would leave at exactly 1 pm. That was how the days came and went in their household.

One day, Granny was heard from her bedroom in loud shrieks. When he went to investigate, his grandmother was standing on her bed smiling as though she was in the best of health throughout her entire life. He rushed to contact the doctor, and when he informed him of everything, the doctor just said, “I’ll come by tomorrow.”

This made him extremely devastated, but he knew that he had to at least do something.

A few hours later, he walked briskly into her room and demanded that she stay in bed for her rest. However, that old lady had another plan instead. She jumped down from her bed with a stern look upon her face. When she reached in from of him, she slapped him sharply across the face and he stumbled back.
“You better watch your mouth young man. Or else I’ll…I’ll-I’ll,” she stuttered off and fell back on the edge of her bead, with her head facing the ceiling.
He inhaled deeply and let it out slowly, as he saw his grandmother’s face shrunk and closed silently.

For the rest of his life, all he could think about was how he was the main cause of his grandmother’s fast death. After her funeral, doctors informed the family that her death was caused by high blood pressure increase and a severe heart attack caused by the increase. When he heard that, he felt his own heart undertake a minor heart failure.
For now, he works as a surgeon trying to save those who wish to have a long life, just as his dearly beloved grandmother did.
