The original photograph is from the Dutch book “Pasteltekenen voor beginners”. I liked the colors and wanted to make it an expressive and intense piece.
Painted with Rembrandt soft pastel sticks on grey Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper, 24 × 32 cm.
Tanja Udelhofen was born in Germany in 1974. She works predominantly with acrylic paints but also likes pastels and watercolors, and creates digital paintings every now and then.
Tanja is mostly a self-tought artist but took several classes in different mediums and genres to enrich her techniques and challenge herself with new topics. Currently she focuses on portraits with the intention to create surrealist and phantastic portraits. She lives and works in the Netherlands.
