Credits and Resources
where are the work descriptions…
Quite often I forget to add descriptions to my artworks detailing the process, medium or resources used…
This happens due to the nature of my creative bursts and the odd hours they occur in and bulk uploads and constant distractions and a short term memory of a sift lol…
So here is my list of resources, credits, images used, favourite tools and mediums etc…
Silhouette Shapes
Figures/people -
Majority of these are either handrawn by me or created from my own personal photos… yep, that means they were once upon a time a picture of me lol.
Occasionally though I will use old vintage silhouettes long dedicated to the public domain.
Although with these I usually always alter the image… making my versions unique in comparison to the originals
eg. I will usually draw on a different head/hairstyle, add fairy wings, different feet, change positions of limbs… etc.
and all edging on any public domain silhouettes are terrible :) So all of these are cleaned up also with their edge work before i use them.
Animals/Beasts –
same as above.
Flowers, Trees etc -
Some of these are drawn by me either by hand and scanned in and cleaned up, or drawn digitally with the mouse.
Various ps brushes are often used aswell for trees, moons, stars, vector patterns and borders
Some of these ‘brushes’ have to be cleaned up alot after use, to get the clean smooth edge lines, this i do in ps with my good ol’ generic mouse and the very small smudge tool. (my wrists are sore lol)
(one day i will get myself a graphics tablet!!!)
Concept/composition –
all from my mind :)
Inspirations for my silhouette works come from all over the place.
Backgrounds
Depending on my current mood and the theme in which i’m working in at the time, the backgrounds are created with bringing out the silhouette in a certain vibe… a background has the underated power to completely alter a silhouette, so, with this in mind, I strive to bring out my silhouettes in a way that will hold your imagination and tantalise your visual senses :)
Majority of the backgrounds are purely digitally created, with the exception of some pieces having a painting as the initial backdrop.
All my silhouette works are put together in photoshop cs3.
Resources
Misc Images -
As stated above, Majority of images used in my artworks are from my own personal collection
Occasionally I do source pics from various public domain sites…
I often do this at odd hours of the night and such, and sometimes forget to write down the particular site address when saving/downloading images…
so in such cases as these, I often just state ‘sourced from public domain’
Tho, if you are curious and have alot of time on your hands, they’re bound to be in one of the sites from my list :)

Detailed Work Details?
Now I am a big believer in working things out for oneself…. :)
Everything I have learned to do, I have learned it on my own, thru trial and error, and I am still in the midst of learning new things even now…
Learning for ones self, independant research and using initiative and creativity is an important part of being an artist.
So more often than not… I refrain from writing detailed descriptions of the process I take to create my art.
Occasionally I do divulge… and you will see a short sweet description of the work details… but it is my nature to not give away my methods :)
If any one has any questions regarding how I have done something, feel free to ask, and I will tell you depending on my mood and frame of mind at the time… I am quite open to discussion if prompted, but like I said, it is in my nature to keep my methods to myself… so dont be offended if my answers are not what you’re loooking for :)
