I managed to get pretty close to these guys who were more interested in eating than fleeing for their lives as they usually do. Taken with Canon 7D and 70-200 f4 L lens
Hello and WelcomeI’m an amateur photographer and have been photographing wildlife since 2008I hope you enjoy your visit.Jim
I see at least one of them made it past Thanksgiving! Nice portrait Jim.
Thanks Dan….now who in their right mind would eat such an ugly bird like that? LOL
– Jim Cumming
First time I see one up close. It’s both ugly and beautiful at the same time….Fantastic colours and a gentle sadness in his eye….thanks for sharing.
This attractive fellow looks moderately intelligent. This individual was more than moderately belligerent, so I opted to shoot him through the windshield! You’ve got a wonderful catch of the bird that lost out to the Bald Eagle as the US’s bird-of-choice, Jim. Ben Franklin would’ve approved.
Thanks Sheila…I heard about the turkey being nominated, somehow it just wouldn’t be the same
Come to think of it, yours appears to be a hen, so would be of the less-pugnacious gender. Unless you happened to be a Tom rather than a Jim, in which case she would have ignored you, or pecked you silly.
I think they found a soulmate, Jim
