Greater Yellowlegs Reflects by

These birds forage in shallow water, sometimes using their bill to stir up the water. They mainly eat insects and small fish, as well as crustaceans and marine worms. It often walks in sand or mud and leaves clear tracks; it can be possible to gather information about this species using its tracks. Taken with my Canon 40D and 400 5.6 L lens at Jack Pine trail in Ottawa, Ont, Canada

    G’day JIM!

Firstly my heartiest congratz on the Feature.

Outstanding and brilliant are the first words which spring to mind when I view this very fine wildlife shot. Quality is dripping off my monitor onto my keyboard as I type this. 8-)
Truly remarkable photography demonstrating great exposure/processing control
of that glorious light and wonderful natural colours. The reflection really brings the image to life and I get the feeling I am right there watching this scene from a hide.

  • Thank you very much for the wonderful comment Dennis.

such a lovely image of this delicate creature, caught in its natural habitat, and surrounded wonderfully by the still water and the echo of its likeness staring back, for him and us to see. Bravo!

  • Thanks very much Phil
