This huge 500 ton vessel used in the coking process at the Syncrude plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta is being transported by Mammoet near the town of Two Hills, AB The vessel is 80 meters long and 10 meters in diameter, 38 feet high. As many as 4-7 tractors are coupled to the Scheurle trailers, both front and rear, 20 axle lines, 360 wheels. The oversized loads require a logistics team of more than 20 vehicles. The total length of the trip is about 550 km from Edmonton and the loads are usually transported during winter when the roads are frozen hard.
At this point in the trip they are re-arranging the tractors before negotiating a very tight turn in Two Hills.
