An Acrylic painting of Some eagles resting together in a tree overlooking a large drop off by the Wisconsin river near Prarie du Sac in the winter.Bald eagle watching days is a wonderful event held every year in the city during late Jan. The Eagles all congregate there due to a hydro electric dam on the river that creates fishing opportunities for the birds on the open water near the plant. Original 16×20 on canvas. Brilliant painting Dan. I love the confidently handled faded background in contrast to the sharp well observed birds on the tree. Almost tempted to have a go with acrylics sometimes – and your painting is one of those times!

  • Thank you for your wonderful insight and comments Glenn.I am very happy with how this one turned out.It was one of the first times I decided to handle the backround/non focus area of the painting with this impressionistic soft focus style. I think it lends a “photographic” feel to it without it minimizing the “painting” feel I strive to create. Your comments and insights are greatly appreciated, carrying the weight of your incredible work. I love your style of painting that brings with it a soft luminous light feel. And works such as yuors make me want to take up the old watercolor brush more often!
