A wild Dingo on the tourist beach, Fraser Island, Australia.

Life really can be as nice & simple as sitting on a beach watching the world go by. For a Dingo anyway.

When i spotted the Dingo it was looking very content and unafraid of its surroundings and that’s what I was hoping to capture.

What is a Dingo?
The Australian Dingo or Warrigal is an ancient, free roaming, primitive canine unique to the continent of Australia. Dingoes play an important role in the various ecosystems of Australia; they are apex predators and the largest terrestrial predators on the continent (From Wikipedia)

Great capture of a dingo very comfortable in it’s surroundings!

  • Thanks, it was very comfortable. That was before the rangers arrived to move it along. They are not allowed on the tourist beach.

Great capture! He looks almost friendly.

  • Thanks, he does look friendly but they are not. I used to live on Fraser Island where the dingos roam and you could hear them at night. Their sound was that of an unnatural babies cry.

    Wonderful image. Great work

  • Thanks, it is the only decent photo I was able to capture of a dingo, despite living for 6 months on Fraser Island.

cute! he seems like an adorable creature. do they have the same temperament as wolves? like, can you get upclose to them or not?

  • At your own risk :) They have as you mentioned exactly the same temperament as wolves.
