Alexander, it was done with a complex layering of difefrent photos, the model, textural photos that i took of bricks, dead shrubs, concrete, getting the layers and opacity just right and then burning the colors in, painting in shadows and highlights, etc.
It’s a matter of experimentation and days of work until you hit the right combination for the specific photo.
