Something to say? Then say it by danpatmore

The last couple of weeks I have been lucky enough to escape some of the banality of my working life with refreshing and intellectual qualities. It’s been excellent, I always tire of hearing phrases like ‘oh that’s a bit heavy for a (INSERT DAY) morning/lunchtime/afternoon/night (delete as appropriate).’ Who sets the agenda of what should be discussed and when? As intelligent (well mostly) adults in a (supposedly) free world, surely we can discuss whatever we like when the mood takes us – politics/religion/society/life/the universe whatever the topic whenever we damn well want?! I am fortunate that a couple of my colleagues are not only good friends but interesting open-minded people that I can discuss these topics with – equally we spend a large portion of our time discussing silliness but that’s great too. In an anti-intellectual world it’s nice to meet people who have something to say about the issues the world faces AND that they want to share it with you AND want to hear your opinions too.

A few minutes ago I was just reflecting upon all of this and it bought me another of conclusion, how lucky us ‘redbubblers’ are that we have a community where we can exchange our views and creativity with the world at large. And surely how having that opportunity is what will lead to our education, enlightenment and satisfaction, and to some extent prove that perhaps, the world is not without hope.

I don’t regularly write journals on Redbubble, but I really felt inclined to share this with you (whoever you are). Revel in your existence, your mind and your ability to create the provocative art and literature that so many of you use this site to share. And thank you for doing so, it gives a young cynic hope.
