Letter from Van Gogh
First in a series of what it really was like to be the one great artists of history.
By trawling through thousands of manuscripts ans visiting the artist’s haunts, I will try to bring you, the good people at Red Bubble the human side of the Artist, and in turn hope you: as an artist community will learn and benefit from what I have found.
Thank you.
Now get back to clicking or scribbling or posing or whatever you do to avoid work.

I really like this concept, and hope to see more of them..I also wish I knew a lot more about art history, as I feel I`m missing a lot here..
The new coat..I`m assuming thats a white one, with wrap around sleeves?
Swirly things asking me to paint them!

Scott I know two-fifths of bugger all as well.
For instance Van Gogh only cut off the bottom half of his ear and then gave it to a prostitue to kook after.
There was so much I realised I left out of this that Vincent may have another letter in the big box I found at Arles.
Fuck I’m starting to sound like Lucan.

haha! So I can look forward to more of these then…
I would have loved to hear the conversation between the prostitute and him,,
“Here, look after this for me…I`ll be back for it shortly”..
I actually heard that Vangocg may have had auditory halluncinations, which may have prompted him offing the lobe.

What he said Scott was almost exactly that.
There are a load of theories he had some medical conditions ( some medical others self inflicted) that made him see things in a yellowish tinge and give him ocular vision.

hehe, i wouldnt be surprised if he would of wrote something similar danny.
i was at the van gogh museum in amsterdam late last year & bloody wow is all i can say. what a vast incredible collection of mind blowingly cool paintings. i honestly didnt think id be that thrilled…i ended up reading the blurbs (big & small) in each main room & the man had a sense of humour to my delight.
i loved one particular painting he sent to theo (i think it was theo) who kept telling him not to paint such brooding/despressing dark colours…so he painted the darkest (but damn fine painting i must say) & sent it off as a birthday gift with an accompanying letter. reading all this bits & peices about each painting showed a playful (but more often than not seriously depressed darkside to him) not so much the loonyassed freak he’s made out to be in art history (with his ear chopping unfortunate incident). we all have bad days! a little controversy goes a long way.
sounds cliched but i was so inspired by his work. he even had some incredible japanese inspired work i had no idea about. seeing one painting after the other, each meticulous brushstroke & his colours were f’ing perfect. mad or not if alive today he’d be a damn fine dinner guest.

Damn Ange
anyone would think you were a school teacher or something.
I took many liberties here and I will again in just about everything I do on RB.
As TISM once said

This ones even better…um than the second. Nothing like doing things backwards and in reverse. There never was a good place to start, least of all at the very beginning. I always find it fascinating that he worked so hard at becoming a priest for those with the worst lot, and went on this amazing human journey and ended up one of the greatest artists of all time.

PISSFUCKENFUNNYSTUFF!!! Robert(above) asked me nicely not to leave offensive words on his art pages ….. I only said TITTIES what’s so bad about that. THIS SITE IS FULL OF PICTURES OF TITTIES !!! i don’t get it….... but at least he asked nicely and didn’t rat on me to the OVERLORDS!! i sometimes wonder if that’s why Van GOGh wasn’t very popular….. maybe he said the first thing that came to his mind as well…. Whippety KRACK!!!!
