Photo in Adelaide Advertiser Monday 16 March
A photo that I took at my first job as “official photographer” on Valentine’s day is in today’s Advertiser, page 49. Bottom right.
Check it out.

Well done! Very nice. How did you get the picture there, did the couple submit it?
Danielle Bailey replied
Yes the couple did submit it and I knew it was going in. I’m quite dissappointed though that none of the photos on the page have any reference to the photographer. Does anyone know if that’s legal?
Danielle Bailey
I have just checked the page again and there is a general credit to one of the newspapers photographers. I have emailed a complaint. It’s not right that he should take credit for my work!
Kieron Nolan
That’s not on! I hope they put your name in tomorrow. With regards to what’s legal, if you hand over all images to the customer and tell them they own the rights then they can do what they want with them. If you have it in writing that you own the copyright then they need to come to you for permission to use them elsewhere and to get reprints.
Danielle Bailey replied
I do have it in writing that I own the copyright, but have also given them permission to print them as often as they wish. I knew the paper was going to the paper and I am happy that it’s there, I’m just annoyed that the paper have not given credit where credit is due, especially since the paper specifically asked who the photographer was before they would accept the photo.

I got a response from my email:
Hi
thank you for your email
We do credit supplied photos but unfortunately in this case it was not clearly stated in the email we received
Cheers
Kieron Nolan
Oh well, we can learn from this! Always ask that customers credit us if they submit our picturesor show them to other people!

Just read your other replies above (not too bright today). Seems you did everything you could! The paper stuffed up. Hope your name appears tomorrow!
