On Canson paper, Ink Pens, Art pens, Acrylic and Irridescent acrylic.
Doodling with ink pens one evening; i started from the centre. I was having fun mirroring and repeating images as this mandala appeared.
This one is all free-hand, no tools (like the compass, ruler etc) so a surprising creation for me!
The colouring was also lots of fun; the art pens can be “washed” into a watercolour effect, and the colours swirled into each other, and then some details were added with paints.
Wild and vibrant!
Passionate and fun!

Danita…you have one sharp mind,,,,a very steady hand….and a great creative spirit!
Thanks for that Kevin. I enjoyed the freedom of not having to get out all the ‘tools’! I dont plan any of the mandalas when starting, this was another expression….

how do you achieve such amazing symmetry? How beautiful, a fascinating artwork :))
hi louise – draw many concentric circles, one outside the other, divide the outermost into required number of “sections” and begin. This one is on my facebook page as a series of pitures to show how it grew, my son Ben taking photos as i sat doodling it one evening. It was abit unusual in that i entirely free handed it , once the circles and sections were in place , whereas usually i use the compass and ruler a fair bit…. see on my page at facebook
