Common Brown Butterfly (Heteronympha merope) - Horsnell's Gully, South Australia by

Common Brown Butterflies can be seen in the Lower Mount Lofty Ranges around dusk, making the most of the dying light and catching the sun on their wings. This one is a female, though typically we see many more male butterflies of this species on any given hike.

Conservation and creativity are our two strongest passions. Our nature photography extends into online video at NatureScope . We’re also currently producing a documentary film called Cuttlefish Country . All purchases of our work will go directly towards the film’s production. The film is due for release in 2013.
