Female Mulga Parrots (Psephotus varius) - Point Lowly Peninsula, South Australia by

The patient observer on the Point Lowly Peninsula is in for a delightful treat. Pairs of Mulga Parrots and small groups flash among the low foliage, foraging and chirping sweetly. The do scare easily though, so photographic moments like this are a real treasure. The Point Lowly Peninsula (also referred to as Port Bonython) is currently zoned for industry, despite its varied and wonderful natural assets. You can find out more about the region by visiting the Cuttlefish Country website.

What a great capture of these shy birds Dan, well done, your patience paid off!

  • Thanks Barb, yes they certainly are shy! This was the third group of these I stalked over two days… well worth the wait!
