Silvereye at Baudin Conservation Park - Kangaroo Island, South Australia by

The silvereye is a common bush bird which I have seen on many hikes on Kangaroo Island and in the Adelaide hills. The South Australian subspecies is known as Zosterops lateralis pinarochrous. This particular character was unusually calm in my presence, settling down to roost for the evening. Generally these birds move very swiftly, darting about catching insects and keeping even the sharpest avian photographer on his or her toes.
