This is a monotype print I created in the Spring of 2008 with purple, black and white ink. Tools used to spread the ink on the plate included three rollers, Q-tips and macrame cord.

I trust my emotions, instinct and sense of aesthetics when creating abstract art. I choose colors according to my mood and if I feel they work together. The decision to roll a color where on the plate is made on the spot with an eye for how it works overall. The Q-Tips acquired more thought and were used to remove ink on the outside of a patch of color or to create a line based on no clues from the ink.

This is a .png version of a high-quality .tif scan.
