Something about your work reminds me of the artist Dorrit Black (an Australian artist of the 1930’s and 1940’s) plus Grace Cossington Smith (another Australian artist from around the same time) – in paticular this painting http://www.nga.gov.au/Exhibition/CossingtonSmith/Detail.cfm?IRN=130914&ViewID=2
