Magical Mother City

Dani Dreyer

Magical Mother City

Oil on canvas. ± 8” x 12”. December 2008.

Another painting showing the view of Cape Town and Table Mountain (Western Province, South Africa) as seen from Bloubergstrand.

I love trying to capture the forces of nature in paint on canvas but believe that only a camera can truly capture the beauty of this amazing and magical place.
Table Mountain has many moods and this view changes all the time, pure magic..

Worked on and off on this for the past few months and again did not use any reference for this. I used to love sitting on the beach and sketching the mountain a few years ago. These days I spend many hours in traffic but at least enjoy this amazing view while I am crawling to work.

P.S. personally i prefer the painting to a photo as it has much more warmth and feeling than a photo can ever have…..this is just perfect

  • Dani Dreyer replied

True, thanks for the compliments and having a look!!
This mountain has many moods and change its look in the blink of an eye.
