Rusted and neglected in Bunbury, Western Australia, these exposed gears once powered an old wharf loading crane.

With light from the setting sun, the scars of a long and hard working life are made visible and tell us something of the character and strength of this machine and those who worked it.

Hi Eyes, you’re right. Out towards the end of the old timber jetty there is an old crane that sits on a metal track. The photo is of the exposed mechanism that drives the crane along the track. We only stayed the night in Bunbury before heading south and went out on the old timber jetty to watch the sun set..
