The Measure of Myself-Devil's Touch Resumed

Defenses down
I move forward
Seemingly free
Yet the Devil tears at my minds eye
Trying to take back what’s rightfully mine
Stabbing and clawing in my darkest hours
Physical battle won and left behind
Mental war raging on
I take solice from past victories
Yet I know in my moments of weakness
He will come calling
Trying to regain control
Aware that my life is my own
I am measured by my actions and choices
Still, the Devil will not cease to pursue me
Until my last breath escapes me
I vow to be triumpant in each of his challenges
And at my times end will gaze back
Measure myself
Not by what has happened
But by what I have done.

I don’t really want you to explain, but it still seems like a thing you could keep writing about, something ongoing

That was really good-a battle with the devil. I’m glad you won. I liked the ending of it the way you took responsibility. Keep moving forward.

  • Thank you journey for the wonderful comment.
