From Our House to Yours, Merry Christmas
From Our House to Yours, Merry Christmas belongs to the following groups:
Rescued PetsFor all that I am and shall become I thank God and I thank all of you who since August have become my friends and mentors. While my art or creations may never grace the walls of the most exclusive galleries in the world, it is the essence of who I am that I hope always comes through in what I do; allowing people to see what matters most to me in life; my precious rescued pets.
Without me and without you they have no voice in this world and no one would ever know the joy and beauty of being owned by a pet.
The poem below, by Darlene Goff, is my mantra. Words that give me strength when I feel exhausted after a long day of meeting every ones needs. Words that remind me that what I do is not useless, or “crazy”. It reminds me that what I do should never be taken lightly or become a cause for self-glorification.
My motives, my actions and my heart should always be driven purely and unconditionally in all that I do, and especially so when the well being of a living creature hangs in the balance.
I hope that all of you dear artists and friends have a safe, wonderful holiday, and Merry Christmas and above all a prosperous and blessed New Year.
Warmest Hugs and Regards,
Terri (DanceswithCats)

TAKER-IN OF STRAY CATS (and pets of all kinds)
by Darlene Goff
God sends some of us a special mission …...
to take in stray kitty cats under any condition.
To feed them and give them a permanent home,
to love them and make them our very own.
They chase through the house, their potty box smells,
they seem to have secrets, they are unwilling to tell.
They play till exhausted, then curl in your lap,
and settle themselves for a long comfy nap.
Some people are called to great wealth and power,
to run corporations, make big bucks per hour.
But others of us are only asked,
to take in little stray kitty cats.
I asked God for things of importance to do,
like loving a good man, and loving and raising you too.
he said “Do not be self righteous; learn from your mistakes,
and be glad I sent kitties and not My Stray Snakes.
I dreamed when I died, I heard St. Peter say,
“What important things did you do each day?”
I felt Heaven for me was an impossibility,
and that I should have lived my life much differently.
Then God said, “Come in. Have food and some drink,
and sit here in heaven by your little cat, Tink:
For I gave you one of my most important tasks
when I asked you to be a taker in of stray cats.

Amazing poem, Terri. It moves me a lot, because I also have adopted many stray cats. And I’m convinced that each and every one of them is a precious gift from heaven.
Merry Christmas!
