Artist's Description

I found this on my laptop the other day.
It’s one of the first photos I took after ditching my compact and hooking myself up with a DSLR. I took it in Camps Bay (Cape Town) sometime in 2009 before I even knew exactly how my camera worked.
I had gotten so used to the extremely basic settings on my compact camera that all the options on the DSLR were like learning a foreign language.

I remember taking a few disastrous photos of the sunset (which were made worse by the habit I used to have of leaning to the left), but this one I liked. Plus, I had to dirty my top and pants by lying in the sand to get it.
