Living in South Florida I have grown very accustomed to having to live vicariously through the images of my friends across the globe when it comes to enjoying the beauty of seasonal color. I’m not saying we don’t have any here, but it’s limited compared to so many of you in colder climates.
One flower you just don’t see here is the Cherry Blossom or as the Japanese call it, Sakura. Ahhhhh …. such beauty and in South Florida we can only dream of taking a walk under the blooming trees with flower petals floating in the breeze, or attending a Hanami Picnic with good friends and a basket filled with Japanese delights in celebration of the Sakura’s beauty and good cheer.
My Sister sent over a cherry blossom branch this week, at first just a bunch of tiny buds on a bare branch but today …. the delicate pink blooms are open and such a sight to see. The photos I took of it this morning do not do it justice but here they are … Cherry Blossoms from South Florida.
