On Alligator Alley, half way between Ft. Lauderdale and Marco island, I had my friend Karen pull the car off the road when I saw this gorgeous creature chowing on road-kill. Camera in hand, I was prepared to capture a shot, the first two didn’t turn out well as he flew right out of my range, but then he decided to come back and give me a perfect pose on top of this fence post. I didn’t know then, but have since identified him as a Crestted Caracara (long tailed falcon)
