Scary but brilliant – great concept

Darren this really made me laugh, what does she look like ?. It is a great shot.

What made me laugh was the contrast ,there she is with her little doll in a Dr Who mask.!!
What a character she is.

This is so damn sensational… love everything you have done here… especially dressing up your daughter – very impressive! And adore the backdrop!

Oh my, this is so good. I’m a huge Dr Who fan so this really appeals to me, but I think even those that don’t watch or enjoy can take something from this. The treatment you’ve given it is spot on, and the backdrop works so well, reminds of a few different scary movies. Then the lighting, posture and pose of the little girl, without the helmet may be sweet, but you get this underlying sense of menace, gives me chills, I love it! I’d love to see a series of shots like this, that would be utterly sensational!

My first reacation was a gasp and then I saw the finer points of the photo which is so well put together. It also reminded me of the gas masks that belonged to my grandparents. They kept them in the cubby of a hallstand and we used to play with them on our heads as children.

Outstanding image, superb. Not hard to see why this has been chosen by The Photographer of the Year committee. Good luck with the competition …
