These trees died more than one thousand years ago when the flood waters of the Namib Desert were cut off by the growing sand dune in the background. Today they are nothing more than carbon remains and are incredibly hard to the touch, following a millenium of exposure to the sun in one of the driest places on earth.
I like this, i just kind of want to see the red contrast more with the blue i think… since the blue is such a strong blue, if they red was equally as strong, it would make the tree pop more? perhaps..
or perhaps i am bonkers

Thanks Angie. When there I’m not sure I’d have described the sand as red but rather this incredibly vivid orange that you see here. I guess it doesn’t contrast the sky as much as a redder sand would but I wouldn’t want to tweak the colouration in this to take it away from what it actually looked like!
