I love it! I love the title, it makes the image so much more forlorn!
Damian, about 1 year ago
Thanks a lot Chris! It was one of those moments where I just knew the title and story as soon as I looked through the camera.
Dee Boylan, about 1 year ago
Yeah….I can relate to that….hehe…interesting picture…simple but then a lot to take in…mmm
Robert Knapman, about 1 year ago
Aww so alone. Sending some special attention its way. The B & W, shadow and emptiness of the background nicely emphasises its sadness.
Damian, about 1 year ago
Thanks artemis, and I hope you don’t have to relate to it for too long. I’ll email a hug :)
Damian, about 1 year ago
Thanks Robert, I found it amazing just how sad this poor little bear looked! It just got worse once I arranged the light to give it a long shadow!

Awww …. poor little bear …. ((((hug)))).
Did you take any of the front of him??
Suzanne German, about 1 year ago
strange bear – strange circumstances….
Lisadee, about 1 year ago
He bought a tear to my eye, that is sooo beautiful. That is really so moving to me. Inanimate objects can pervay such emotion. I love it.
Where did you get the bear?
Damian, about 1 year ago
Hi CathieT, lol, he’s just begging for a hug isn’t he! I did take some of the front of him – I’ll see if I can show his cheery, bright side :)
Damian, about 1 year ago
Hi Suzanne, maybe not so strange – I think he absorbs too much of the feelings of those he’s trying to cheer up. What do you think?
Damian, about 1 year ago
Thanks Lisadee, that’s the feeling he passed to me as well.
The bear was looking down at me from a shelf while I briefly checked RedBubble while away visiting for the weekend. He was made by young hands as a going away present, which gave him so much more character straight away.
Suzanne German, about 1 year ago
well perhaps if i knew the circumstances…

I’m a sucker for handmade toys and their stories. Beautiful lighting and composition, Damian :) And a sweet story!
Damian, about 1 year ago
Suzanne, I haven’t intended the bear to particularly represent myself, if that’s what you mean (but there would be moments…). Or are you after a more fleshed out version of the bears story?
Damian, about 1 year ago
Thanks Alison, I thought the story behind this bear was a nice one too. It’s actually quite small too, if you could tell by the size of the button.
mrana, about 1 year ago

Brings poignant thoughts of lost friends or old friends forgotten as we move from innocence to adolescence.

Great shot.. I love the whole concept behind it: the composition, the sad poignancy, the title… I can tell you had the workings of a short story in your head somewhere! Great work!
Damian, about 1 year ago
Thanks Tuppers! There’s always a short story lurking there LOL!
