Great shot, Damian. Love the texture added by the debris on the floor, makes it less cold:)
Kitsmumma
Interesting shot Damian! Excellent use of light! :D
Andrew Bosman
Great atmosphere in this Damien, quite moody.
Damian
Thanks guys!
Laura, I wouldn’t want to clean up this area, it’d ruin the authenticity of the shot :)
Kitsmumma, thank you!
Andrew, thanks, I was aiming for moody.
transmute
Love how the darkness defines the light
lucymay
great angle, creates interesting shadows x
Damian
Chris, thanks, it was an interesting spot with a burst of full sun slipping into the building.
Lucymay, thanks, yeah, love the shadows :)
Rebecca May
So much depth to this, both literally and metaphorically. Great work:-)
Damian
Thanks heaps Rebecca! The image comes from an area of my workplace, one where there have been alot of changes, and it could soon become as still and dark as this image.
Fiona Braendler
Superb! ... so atmospheric. Love it.
Damian
Thanks Fiona :)
xtremereasons
I looked at this photograph of yours for a while and I really like it. It has a sense of emptiness and leaves me thinking ” What was ? ”. Well done Damien.
Damian
Thanks a lot xtremereasons, I’m pleased that you felt that way :)
Tiffany Dryburgh
Love the mood of this one.
And thanks for having a peruse of my offerings!
Damian
Thanks Tiffany, and thanks for coming for a look here too :)
Elaine van Dyk
Great shot, Damian. It makes me feel like I’m hiding in a dark corner – it’s a bit scary.
Damian
Thanks Whirligig, that’s a great comment :)
Damian
Woohoo – Industrial Lighting was featured on the home page!!!!! My first image featured!
EarthquakeBee
Feels like forcing you to hold your breath. Not just who you managed the shadow and light here, the image evokes a scary mood for me.
Damian
Thanks EarthquakeBee, I’m really pleased that it’s been able to strike a scary chord with you :)
Melissa Vowell
All of your photographs are incredible. Really incredible, but this one, this is my favourite. I don’t even know why, but it’s familiar. love Mella x
Damian
Thanks a lot Mella, that’s an awesome thing to say! Glad you like this one too :)
jwb3
Hey Damien, Just added this one to my favorites…..i just love the way it is almost impossible to judge the scale of the shot, even though it is plain to see that it is a large frame by the forklift forks, my mind always seems to shift me back to the feeling that it is a work benchtop, or something much smaller, with say the debris on the floor more like pencil shavings.
.....Maybe its just me, but thats the point huh
Damian
Thanks jwb3, glad you liked it enough for a fav! I hadn’t seen the small scale idea until you said it, but see what you mean. The pattern on the crate puts me right into the real idea of it whenever I look at it, but that’s just because it’s a work area I see all the time – hard to step back sometimes. Thanks for your comment.
indiebuddy

marieancolie
Very interesting play shadows/light..
How sad are your words .. “end of an era…..”
it’s always sad to see an end whatever it is.
Hope you are well Damian :)
Damian
Thanks locustgirl! I was trying to see if I could turn a normal work place into something more interesting, so I’m happy with ‘dark and haunting’!
Damian
Thank you Marie, I’m glad you thought so.
Things are changing, certainly. Some will be sad, but hopefully not all. In the real world I will look for the positives, but for the image I focused on the ending.
And I’m well, thanks! Always tired since finding RB though :)
Antanas
