Thunderhead across Lake Sunday, Yorke Peninsula May 2007
This thunderhead is around 40-50 kms away to the WSW of our property in the southern Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. Although we had some heavy rain before I ventured out to take some photos, this one went past some 10 to 15 kms to the south of us.
The Northern tip of Lake Sunday is approximately 1 km to the South of our property and is around 2 kms long and 500 m wide. Yorketown is surrounded by around 200 Salt Lakes that fill during winter and dry out during summer..

This is a compilation of shots taken on the same day around 2 to 3 kms to the South East…

...as is this one…

Did you get rain that night Craig? Looks huge that one, great capture.

We did have some heavy rain go through, but not from this one. This thunderhead was probably 40 to 50 kilometres away to the WSW when I took it and it would probably have gone past around 10 to 15 kms to the South of us. The shot was taken from the dirt road that goes past Lake Sunday, and around 1 km to the South of our property.
