Impressive work, Craig!
Craig Watson
Thanks Mel… I have a few more images from the same “photo session” that I intend to upload as individual images and some as a double or tripple image. They should have a similar feel and look as this triptych… I hope!
PhySpi
The top one is my fav for sure. I love the scud clouds rolling in from the left, being sucked into that updraft thats building the main body of the storm, and then the jet stream at the top that is pulling the whole storm accross back accross itself and to the left again. The lighting is just right for good cloud textures too.
Nice!
Craig Watson
Thanks PhySpi

Graeme Pettit ...
I like the layout too. Nice rest after going through your recent patterns…....my eyes have gone all wobbly trying to take them in. LOL
The newer patterns are almost tribal – was that your inspiration for some of them Craig? For my tastes, I prefer the photos, but the foliage patterns (Kalaidescope?) really work well and bridge the differences by combining the best of both in my opinion. Cheers for now. G

Wow..this is beautiful..my hat’s off to a job well done!
Craig Watson
Thanks very much for the comments Graeme and Bluetiger… they really are appreciated.
As for the patterns Graeme, there is no real inspiration for them… they just happen…sort of! I try to get some contrasting colours by capturing a a very small bit of a photo and playing around with it. They were faily simple to start with, but have become more detailed recently. They are done in a very simple bit of software called “Microsoft Paint”... I am not in a position to have Photoshop or other software at present and have not got the time to learn how to use them at the moment anyway… one of these days… hopefully I will be able to do so.
The foliage pattern kaleidoscopes are just a composition of one blurred photo with a simple horizontal and vertical mirrored effect… they seem to come up pretty well and present some interesting colours and patterns.
Thanks again for your comments and question.

awesome work….i love the layers….
Craig Watson replied
Thanks Karl… I have stepped a little outside the square and created numerous works in the horizontal style… seems a little different to many others out there. I have also purposefully made the middle one “taller” than the top and bottom ones in this to emphasise that “mirrored” effect in the middle photo.
The top and bottom images were taken with some 4 to 5 minutes in time between them and some 1km or so distance apart. I was driving around to capitalise on the unbelievable sky-scapes that were there after the storm went through shortly before sunset. The two top and bottom shots are looking to the northeast and the middle one is to the east.
I significantly cropped the top and bottom ones to emphasis a panoramic view which I think has the desired effect.
It certainly has generated a lot of interest and comments which I find very humbling.
Thanks Again,
Craig
