Sioux Falls, S.D. (USA) – This beautiful little chapel is located in Mount Pleasant Cemetary. The chapel was built in 1924 following a generous gift from Josephine Glidden. It’s built of Sioux quartzite, as are many historic buildings in Sioux Falls. The chapel fell into disrepair over the years and there were plans to tear it down. However, it was learned that the cost of razing the building exceeded the cost of renovation. Funds were raised to restore the chapel in the early 1970’s. Mount Pleasant Cemetery was established in 1873 and is Sioux Falls’ first and oldest cemetery.
