11 Months, 4 Days, 9 Hours & Pocket Change

Then be happy. But write…you should still write.

I tried to tell you I learned the lesson
How to be content and still find words
But a serpent strangled the lie I believed
Before the whisper could reach my lips

If I’m so damn happy, should tears fall freely
When I’m at peace, would it hurt to breathe
Among nights discontented and sleep elusive
Searching the feel of those words I need

Someday, I’ll find my way without missing you
Write a sonnet full of sunshine and tickled fancy
Someday, another day, one brighter than these
Eleven months, four days, nine hours and pocket change
