No Repentance

Make no excuses for yourself, feel no guilt. Know within yourself that you did everything you could at the time given the circumstances and the knowledge you had. Hindsight should be used to improve the future, not to punish yourself with.

“Once upon a time there was a girl who cried no tears. She was not afraid to blink. She was not afraid to close her eyes and rest, nor look behind into her past to the woman she once was. To look with love upon mistakes and understanding on decisions made. For times which change cannot be foretold and all was done for the best no matter what the outcome. For as long as lessons have been learned, she will look with no repentance on her life. She will cry no tears lest she cannot see the strength she has to change her present circumstance.”

No Repentance is as close as I have gotten to a self portrait. It depicts how I feel about my life at this particular point in time and it looks somewhat like me. It is the first of the Spider Women and as such represents an end and a beginning as my journey changes direction. This picture holds within itself my past and my future. The spider web represents time itself: the continuous turning of the wheel. I have no repentance for anything I have done in the past because it brought me here.
