    Love the wonderful contrast created and the red makes it warm and inviting to look at. Beautifully painted Dai.

  • Thank you Jim. Interestingly, I started the painting with a Sepia background, but I soon decided that it was too dark and monotonic. So I drew some of the sepia out and replaced it with various colours. This suggested other flowers in the background while maintaining a good contrast with the light-coloured blossoms.

  • This apple blossom is in a cluster of interconnected gardens surrounding English style cottages designed by an English woman early last century. The gardens are paradise.
