Giant Otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), Pantanal wetlands, Brazil
IUCN Red List status: endangered. Giant otters are threatened by illegal hunting, habitat loss, competition with humans for fish stocks, and pollution from mining and agriculture.
This otter is part of a group that is regularly fed by the local guides so that tourists can see them.
