Part one of a series of four depicting the same scene in each season. Pen and ink drawing with digital textures and color.
Winter, a time of end of the year celebrations, snowball fights, hot cocoa, hibernating under warm blankets, cabin fever for some, the fear of the upcoming tax season, hazardous driving and endless shoveling. A time for reflecting upon the passing year and looking forward to New Year’s resolutions that will be broken within the first week. It can be a magical time just the same, freshly fallen snow can sparkle like the brightest of diamonds and no two snowflakes are ever alike. Each one is an intricately exquisite work of art. A simultaneously beautiful and incredibly inconvenient season to be sure! Despite my love hate affair with snow and ice I would never want to live in a place without it.
