On October 29th 2012 Super Storm Sandy slammed into the New Jersey coastline causing devastating damage. It was one of the largest and fiercest storms to menace the East Coast in years causing widespread power outages, loss of homes, and destruction of the New Jersey coastline. Within hours it obliterated many iconic images of the New Jersey Shore wiping away places that for many are tied to a lifetime of pleasant memories. For many the Jersey Shore is not just a place, it is actually a part of us, the collective whole of the Jersey Strong determined to rebuild what was lost. It is the lifeblood for many. Sandy may have taken our Jersey Shore but it could not take the Jersey Shore out of us. Rebuilding will take time and patience and most of all funding for the victims who lost more than just a pleasant place to spend the day.
