Riverfire 2010 - F-111 Composite by

So this year we were treated to four photo opportunities for the F-111 Dump-n-Burn display (it being the last Riverfire for the F-111’s).
Rather than whack up four separate photographs, I’ve created a composite of all four in one.
Cloud and smoke led to a messy sky, but it was definitely worth watching despite the efforts of the authorities to make it photographing this event a lot more difficult than it has been previously.

David shoots commercial, corporate and family portraiture as well and nature and landscape images and covers many of SE Qld’s major events.

Well done David !! Another excellent Riverfire image :)

  • Just as well the F-111’s aren’t flying next year, it’s getting hard to top the previous years effort ;-)

Why did the authorities make it hard to photograph?

  • Long story short – new security fences and poorly trained security goons.

did you destroy the fence? ;D

  • While tempting, the fences were actually patrolled by hired security (not the brightest of people I’m afraid).

I bet you did but looks like it was well worth the effort. I often stop here to get images of the bridge but I am sure on this occasion you were fighting for tripod space along with many others

  • Nah, getting there before dawn and staking out a spot meant it wasn’t squishy at all :)

Great photo, David, but I still liked the photo we printed in ’76 Pyro with the jet fighter better.
