I am adding my voice to the chorus of those who are declaring that they are NOT leaving RB.
I have been a member of this site since July 2007 and I have made many friends, had some wonderful laughs and have learnt so, so much while being a member. I am upset to see that some members are choosing to leave – they are leaving behind a community that has no doubt nurtured them as it has nurtured me and so many others. I will be staying, as deep down I believe that RB wants this community to continue to thrive. The world isn’t perfect and RB isn’t perfect. For heaven’s sake, if you see images on RB that you feel don’t fit the RB guidelines, then PLEASE report them. Don’t simply be aghast that they’re on here – actually do something. If the images truly do contravene the guidelines, they will be removed. If you think changes to the guidelines should be made, then give RB that feedback – there is now a moderated forum thread that allows you to have your say; or you could leave your suggestions in this forum.
We can sometimes forget that behind the face of RB are the staff members. There are only so many working hours in a day and if the images aren’t immediately removed, jumping up and down about it won’t get them removed any faster. Let’s show a bit of patience and common sense, instead of the witch-hunt that the site has been over the past few days/weeks/months…

There’s so much to be said about staying and continuing with the art and amazing friends here….opinions will always differ, that’s life. There are many ways to get our opinions across, it’s how you choose to do it ….walking away seems so pointless.

Such a reasoned response and one I have come to expect from you! Thank you for putting this message and the links out there. I have faith it will all get sorted in due time. No question the staff is overworked, and quite distressed themselves. I feel certain they are sifting through the workload of many reported art and writings as quickly and diligently as possible.
How great to hear that as soon as admin contend with the reported works RB will discuss and address the larger issue of baby clothes. It has been intolerable to see so many wonderful and respected members packing up and closing their accounts. I am happy you aren’t leaving us, Adriana. Your calm voice is greatly needed as is your inspirational presence and talent.

Jacqueline, I put myself in their shoes. While this is stressful for us, imagine how stressful this is for them. Patience and calm is what is needed. The baby clothes issue will be sorted, I am very hopeful of that – I wish it was as simply as ‘checking’ or ‘unchecking’ a box from the staff’s pov, but I don’t think it is. Changes like that take time to work out, test and implement, there may be teething problems (excuse pun with baby clothes!). We’ve been here long enough to see how site changes work and how they’re not always smooth. :-))

You’re absolutely right Adriana – except that I was under the impression that “behind the face of RB” are owners, business managers and shareholders and other investors.
As far as I’m concerned the staff ARE the public face of RB, and stuck well and truly in a very unfortunate firing line.

I have read so many comments that imply that RB is a this site and a that site because certain images were not removed.
They were simply just in a big queue awaiting the proper protocols and consideration given to each member here.
Patience is the viture but so easily left outside the door… :(
And I would hope that you treat others as you expect to be treated yourself…..

I truly feel that RB have been inundated if the passion and fury we’ve seen recently is anything to go by. I truly believe that if an image does not comply with the guidelines, RB will remove it.

My heart does break for those that have made that decision. I cannot for a minute think the decision to leave has been lightly made. As passionate as they are that this place is no longer for them, I feel equally passionate that this place still offers so much to it’s community. :-))

I respect members right to leave over these issues, i have followed the arguments on the forums, and they were quite heated at times. I have learned so much on this wonderful sight, so I feel that I owe the RB staff the support that they need to continue to make the right decisions on these issues. So like you Adriana, I will continue to support Red Bubble!. Good journal, but a slightly disconcerting title, well done.
