I thought I’d share this “Then and Now” I’ve done for a challenge on another site. I’ve had the “Then” photo sitting on my desk at home for a while now and had been meaning to create the “Now”; there always an excuse to put it off to another time… Seeing the photos by Irina Werning was the final push I needed to get out there and take the photo. I knew where the house was located, as I’d visited it a few years ago, so armed with camera, tripod and my husband as my assistant (and not a very good one, as he wasn’t as precise about the pose as I would have liked – hurumph!), we ventured to the inner city to take the photo. I’m wearing the same necklace around my neck, I tried to wear similar clothes (and in 30 degree plus day, that was a challenge), the light is all wrong and the garden has flourished since I lived there ~ but I think you get the picture!

I know we’ve seen Peter Hill’s Sets of Two – Photography A Century Apart – if you haven’t, then go and check it out. What I want to know, is have you tried to re-create a “Then and Now” of your own? If you have, I would love to see it! If not, then what are you waiting for? It’s a fun challenge!

Oh wow I’ve heard of this, the then and now and how inspiring your journey is. Such a delight. I’m seeing my mum tomorrow I’m going to have to find a pic of me as a kid and try to do the same. Very cool darling. xx
Adriana Glackin:
Oh wow! I can’t wait to see what you find and then create. It really is a lot of fun to try and do – good luck and don’t forget to post it here or link it here! xx :-)
Lisa Jewell
I shall :)
Adriana Glackin:
Ok, can’t wait! :-)

As cute Now…. and Then. Well done, Adriana.
Adriana Glackin:
Nawww, thank you Bill. What I’d like to know, is have you tried this? If not, come on and give it a go… :-))

Yep your assistant needs a good talking to (but then again you could have put the tripod in the right place too LOL ;)
Great concept and I love that you’ve found the same necklace, what a fabulous touch :-)
Adriana Glackin:
LOL! There was a car in the way and with no owner home I wasn’t game to place the tripod on the car >.< But I will be having a stern talking to my assistant, or at least get him a pair of glasses…

This is pretty cool AG, well done! Great concept, but unfortunately it is a bit far for me to go :(
Adriana Glackin:
Thanks TR – what about your kids, you can always do a ‘then and Now’ with them… ;)
Melanie Moor
This is so cool! I love that you wore similar clothes & the same necklace !!!!
Adriana Glackin:
Thanks Mel – I tried to keep close-ish to the style of Irina in the above link; her details are perfect, though!

Adriana Glackin:
Thanks Sooz, it’s put a smile on my face :-D

You did it! What a great result. It’s a pretty setting and the garden certainly has flourished x
Adriana Glackin:
Yeh! :-)
Jan Timmons
Great result (despite the assistant). I don’t think I could find a “then”: we moved too many times. And I’m not that brave! Thanks for the link, too.
Adriana Glackin:
The assistant…I know, I know, you’d think he’d know better…sigh Glad you enjoyed the link, too – she’s an amazing photographer and certainly has that eye for detail. :-)
