honour...
I live in a village called Merville near Toulouse, the fourth biggest city in France. When you come from Toulouse, you have to go that road. Reaching the end of this wooden tunnel takes you to Merville’s Castle, shyly hidden in its green grounds…

;-)... Merci Gisèle…

Wonderful! We here in central Washington State US have lots of trees, and lots of drives, streets, and even wide avenues that are overhung with trees.
Yours remind me of a US Marine honor guard sheltering the newly wed couple with their swords.

Beautiful image.Excellent shot!
Cyril Marchand in reply to Dawne Olson’s comment, 2 months ago
I’ve heard recently they found a medecine… Hope it will be the right one !
Do you know the Midi’s Channel, in french Le Canal du Midi, linking both Mediteranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean ? There are thousands and thousands of these trees, planted more than a century ago by an man, owning a big factory of cigarette’s paper, all along this aquatic road. The deal was “when undred years will be passed, we could cut down all of these trees for our business !”... Hopefully, the Channel has been classified by Unesco… I can imagine The Canal du Midi without his big plane trees !
Thanks again for your comment Dawne !

Cyril Marchand in reply to Lenka’s comment, about 1 month ago
Let me tell you a secret… my camera has done everything !
;-)
Thanks
Lenka, about 1 month ago
Oh Cyril, I have to disagree: at least I’m quite sure your camera hadn’t composed the picture, and didn’t set the right focal length, both being crucial for getting a great photograph like this one! It may be an auto-focus, auto-exposure – it’s not that important; I’m pretty sure the old famous photographers would use these auto features too (at least now and then) :) It’s still the photographer (not the camera!) who makes the picture :)
Brian Carey, about 1 month ago
As I once heard a great photographer say “it’s all in the light”. But what caught my eye initially are the shadows, created by the trees, crossing the road. One interpretation perhaps, a staircase leading into the light. Beautiful photo and thanks for sharing it!
