The empty barrel
In my grand-parents’ farm, this barrel used to save rain water from drainpipe. My grandfather, with his bucket, watered his leek, oignons and others vegetables perfectly brought into alignment, with this water…

G’day Cyril,
This is a most interesting still life even without the narrative but in reading the story behind this shot I can feel somehow attached to it.
Very well framed/cropped and composed, I found my eye travelling all over the barrel checking out its fine detail then coming to rest on that most interesting bung.
A good exposure and focus render nice sharp detail and the blue toning works very well with the rust and adds more to the nostalgia.
Good work that man!
