This was taken just before a breeze entered though a broken window from the left, and moved a shower curtain to the right. I nearly jumped out of my skin!

This photograph was taken as a jpeg with my small Canon Powershot G9 compact camera, and is of the second floor bathroom in an abandoned house on land owned by the the Haiekala Walnut Shelling Plant of Gerber, CA [USA]. I spoke with Rose, Amanda, and Dan about a college project I was working on, and that I sought permission to shoot in the house. They were fine with it and Dan led me over two different Friday afternoons, in March 2008, to unlock the door. I was allowed to roam freely between the two floors and basement, for a couple of hours each visit. And yes, the basement of an abandoned house is much creepier than a normal basement.
After my project was completed I returned and gave them 8×10″ copies of the 3 images used in the project. While a 24×36″ print now hangs in my home, marking one of my favorite shoots to-date.
