Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion

The Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion in (Georgetown, Penang) malaysia the Winner of the UNESCO Conservation Award 2000 National Architecture Award for Conservation 1995.
Also called the blue Mansion. Was the main location for the film ‘Indochine’ featuring Catherine Deneuve.
The Mansion is now also opened as a boutique hotel (where I stayed..).

    Thanks! the whole mansion was beautiful, it was was so peaceful! Built to the best knowledge of feng shui. I must say, I bought a book about it after that, because this house felt so good!

    I think the house was beautiful, and it was built to high fengshui standards, which I believe resulted in an incredibly harmonious home, a delight to live in! probably why it looked so good too…

    Well, if you really really want, you can live there for as long as you want (you have to pay for it, but it’s rather cheap for a hotel…) as this world heritage building in pthe island of Penang, malaysia is now also a ‘boutique hotel’. Lots of things to see around it, fantastically placed… I’m ready to go back there again any day :)))

    Well, it’s actually a Chinese house finished in 1906, the Chinese Rockfeller of malaysia (Chong fatt Tze) who built this Huge and amazing mansion… The choice of colour like everything in this house is down to Feng Shui, and I must say, it is extremely convincing. In the last quarter of last century, it was home to squatters and a bit destroyed, and some of the family and keen people decided to save the house and refurbish it (using their own mony..) to what it used to be like. they have started to run the house as a boutique hotel,very unique I must say, and it is well worth staying there for at least a night. I now truly understand the benefits of feng Shui. More photos of the Mansion and of its interior there
    The house is now part of the UNESCO World heritage, and received prestigious prizes..
    I really really love that mansion :)))))))))
